Happy Holidays to all! I love that we can get so much inspiration from so many different styles. :^)) Gail, it never ceases to amaze me that maille can take on so many different looks - the beads on this make it really pop! Are they hematite?

Here's my offering to the bling fling: the Eye of Calypso

Yes, faceted hematite stones and pink Swarovski crystals. Your bracelet is incredible.

Beautiful! I really like the way they affect the curve of the bracelet - makes them look like there is a kind of swirly cut on them - I bet they catch the light like crazy!

Thank you, I think this is my new favorite piece. Almost hot off the pliers, LOL

Lillian, I meant to ask you - What kind of wire are you using for your pieces? My understanding was that you use Artistic Wire - Does it remain in the lovely open shapes you create without crushing or bending out of shape during regular wear? Does it come in harder tempers and I just haven't seen it? Or do you just simply need to be more careful wearing it?

I use silver wire with copper core, and artistic wire 14 gauge for necklace, because I hammered the necklace it is strong enough to wear,

I like people to know, This is the only wire could support this kind of shape, and not expensive for practice. if they use other kind of wire may not able to make the shape like this,
The way I created, the skill are totally different as traditional skill, people need educate new technique about wire, I'll pass my skill to any one who like this Contemporary style wire design.

Welcome to take my class or workshop if you are interesting my design, my skill, and all finished by natural bending without soldering.

Lillian,
Thanks for the reply. I don't use solder or fuse any of my pieces either, haven't found the need, so far.:^))

Am I understanding correctly that ALL of the wire you use in these pieces is hammered 14g silver or gold enamelled copper core - and you use this for practice only? So it might not matter that they are somewhat 'bendy?'
Do you make your final pieces in sterling or Argentium for longevity?
