Do you have a
Twitter account? If you do, you will want to
read all of this, especially the
How to Get Started section
below.
On
Beader's Showcase you can now send posts to
Twitter right from your profile page. You can also have the
Status posts you make here automatically posted to
Twitter at the same time.
No more having to open a new browser window to log in to
Twitter just to send a post. You can do it all from your
Beader's Showcase profile page, and in fact any members
profile page.
Status Updates to Twitter
You may already have noticed a checkbox with a
Twitter logo
next to it below the
Status update at the top of your
profile page. If this is checked when you post a
Status update the post will also be sent to your
linked
Twitter account/s.
Content Posts to Twitter
At many places throughout
Beader's Showcase you will notice
the
Twitter logo and a link for sharing content from our
site with your
Twitter readers. By using these links you can
more easily post about something interesting on
Beader's
Showcase directly to your
Twitter account/s. Simply
click on any of these links to pop up a small box for making your
post. Edit the text that is entered by default if you wish, or just
post it as it is.
Other Direct Posts to Twitter
Below everyone's profile photo, and in fact anywhere you find a
Twitter link, you can post about something totally
unrelated to the current page. All you have to do is simply delete
any default text and enter whatever it is you want to post to
Twitter.
The funny links you will find entered by default are simply a short
version so the post will better fit within the character limits of
Twitter, leaving you more characters for your post.
Other Links
You can copy any
Beader's Showcase page url from your
browser, such as to a photo or forum discussion, and paste it into
a
Twitter post, as long as the character limit is
maintained. The number of characters remaining for your post is
shown on the pop up box.
How to Get Started
To have your
Beader's Showcase account link to your
Twitter account/s follow these steps -
- Click on Settings at the top of the right column
and then My Page in the left column
- In the middle of the My Page Settings page you will see
a button titled Connect to Twitter. Click this to
open a page so you can log in to Twitter.
- Log in to Twitter as normal and the connection will be
made. You should then be redirected back to Beader's
Showcase.
Please note, if you were already logged in to
Twitter in
another browser tab the connection will be made automatically
without you having to sign in.
Back on
Beader's Showcase, on your
My Page Settings
page you will now see that your
Twitter account is listed as
a linked account. The account is shown as a link and this link will
remove your account if you wish.
You will also notice an
Add new account link so you
can link to other
Twitter accounts if you have more accounts
that you wish to post to at the same time.
- If you want to link to another Twitter account click on
the link titled Add new account and follow the same
process
- You will notice a checkbox titled Post my Status updates
to Twitter by default on this page. If this is checked, the
Twitter checkbox below the Status
update box on your profile page will always be set. This means
that, by default, your Status updates will be posted
to your linked Twitter accounts. For each
Status update you can uncheck the box if you don't
want a particular post to go to Twitter. If you want this
checkbox unchecked by default, simply uncheck it here.
In Summary
If you are always looking for items of interest to post to your
Twitter account/s then now you can very easily post about
almost any content here on
Beader's Showcase.
While browsing
Beader's Showcase, if you suddenly think of
something you want to post about on
Twitter you no longer
have to open another tab/window for
Twitter, you can send
that post directly to
Twitter from here, and make a
Status update here at the same time.
We hope you enjoy.
