Christine's Horses & Tigers & Gold, Oh My!, closeup!

Wow! I can actually share my Use the Muse peice with all of you!

I didn't win anything, but I had a blast doing it!!!!

The name of my entry is "Christine's Horses & Tigers and Gold, Oh My!"

You see the tigers and the gold , but you might be wondering where the horses come in.... Well, it is actually one horse. My 36 year old Quarter Horse, Resa. (yes, she really is 36 years old!) During the designing of my piece I realized that my old friend was in danger of having to be put down, and I was heart broken. I decided that I needed something of her in my entry, so I harvested some hair out of her beautiful tail and used it in the straps for my necklace. She has always been my "muse" so I thought that it fitting to have part of her close to my heart!

I absolutely LOVED this horse! Her name was Resa and she was my muse. Funny story about this horse...... I went to a Quarter Horse auction with a friend of mine and the last thing that my husband told me was "Don't buy ANYTHING!!" Well, you know how that turned out. lol He was furious! I came home and he had already been told. by I still don't know who, but all of my clothes were on the kitchen floor and my saddle was on the top of the stack. I quietly took all my clothes back to the bedroom and rehung them and walked on eggshells for a couple of days. Later that year I entered my Resa in the county fair and won GRAND CHAMPION!!! I was so proud! In the process of getting my horse put away for the night and the stall cleaned out, my hubby was standing next to the stall with my girls waiting for me to finish so that we could go home for the evening. In the mean time several people that we know came in and commented on what a fine looking animal she was and how well we had done. As he stood there talking to several of them, Resa in her infinate wisedom put her head over the railing of the gate and rested it on his shoulder. He looked at her out of the corner of his eye and said "I know. I know. Your pretty good. Don't push it." He patted her on the head, looked at me, smiled, and said "Lets go home, winner!" All was forgiven and we have laughed often about the day that I had my clothes and my saddle waiting for me on the kitchen floor.

Lovely piece.....I so struggled with the Muse, when I opened the box all I could do was groan, there was not a single thing I loved. Not sure if I will do it again. But am enjoying looking at all the other entries, so many talented people.
I think you did the Muse proud
