I love inventing beaded jewelry patterns. I try not to make the same thing twice. I'm hoping one day to be smart enough to invent an animal pattern, but not quite there yet! I also really enjoy making beading diagrams (sounds odd) but it's fun!
Other beading activities you enjoy or want to learn about?
I usually do right angle weave, but I'm learning peyote stitch right now. It's a lot harder, but then again everyone says that about the stitch they didn't start off with. My friend Jax learned peyote, then right angle weave, and she find right angle weave a lot harder. I first learned how to bead about 3 years ago in Chinatown, when I came across a store that sold only 3D beaded animals. I convinced the store owner to teach me!
About Me:
Maybe this is shameless self promotion, but 1 year ago, I started a beading website to teach others what I have learned! 3Dbeading.com offers free 3D beading patterns for animals, hearts, jewelry and others. Please enjoy!
Hi Allegra,
I just was reading your tutorial on the 3D beading choker and since I am very new to jewelry making, that is a little confusing to me. I love the colors you use and the piece. I would like to try this, but the red and black strings are confusing. Is this just one piece of string? Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like my rock - it sits on the windowsill in my kitchen so I get to look at it all the time.......... occassionally I turn it to get a different view. Certainly was fun to make - thanks for leaving a comment.
Thanks Allegra! I appreciate the comments on my work. You do some stunning pieces, yourself! It's so generous of you to share the patterns with everyone! I'm looking fwd to seeing the bears become available (especially the panda -- I love them!!!!!). The butterfly necklace is the 9th photo of 15 in the slideshow of my main page. I think it's also the cover of the album "Shelley Creations," on the album page of my profile. It's made out of large sugilite jade stones (the deep pink ones for wings), and silver beads for the body. Then there's fringe hanging from a faceted black agate underneath him. He's my baby! Anyway, thanks for adding me as a friend! I'll keep checking that pattern website of yours for the bears. LOL!
Bye for now,
Shelley
