About Me:
I didn't choose beading, it chose me! One day during my lunch hour I was at a big bookstore to pick up a specific book. On my way back to the area I wanted, I passed a sale table full of "How To" books and kits. One was a beading kit. I looked at it, then put it back and went on to get my original book. Walked back by that table on the way to the cash register. At the cash register I discovered that kit had jumped into my arms without me even knowing it, so I bought it and took it back to work with me. At that time I worked in a call center, taking calls all day long. I talked and listened a lot, but didn't have to do much with my hands. So I opened the kit, and had my first little change bag made by the end of the day. From there it has cascaded, to me joining one of the local bead societies, to being VP in charge of programs/classes and workshops for 3 years, to taking my first lampworking class just over 2 years ago, to now, I teach, make and sell my lampwork, and have a whole room for my beads and lampworking.
