Beadweaving in all shapes and sizes!
Other beading activities you enjoy or want to learn about?
Furthering my knowledge of beadweaving stitches, learning how to effectively make an idea into an actual piece, networking with other beaders, specifically seed-beaders.
About Me:
I am a self-taught beader who has been beading for about 3 years now. Seed beads are my main passion, with the myriad of bead stitches as my playground. I love learning new things, and am looking to broaden my network of beaders and my horizons in beading.

Nola, i am now a follower of your blog, it will be fun to keep up with what you are doing. The "Beaded Garden" is also by Diane Fitzgerald. It was my first beadweaving book. It shows how to make flowers with needle and thread. I thought I had read something about it in your blog but I guess I was imagining things. Have you made any projects from the Beaded Shapes book? I have done several and currently have 2 others in the works from it. One of them is in my photos. I did shapes in differnt colors just to practice them but then strung them together as a necklace. It is fun to wear because I get lots of compliments.
Happy beading!

Hi Nola and welcome to Beaders Showcase. You do very nice work. I have also been working out of Diane Fitzgeralds Shaped Beadwork and Beaded Garden. I have really liked the Shaped Beadwork. The Beaded Garden one is good too but somehow I feel like she left a bunch of stuff out.
I would like to subscribe to your blog but couldn't figure out how. Looked for you on Face Book and it couldn't find you.
Happy Beading!!

We are so glad you have joined the Beaders Showcase. Take a look around the site and you will find several areas of interest. Members here are always interested in pictures of your work. If you don't know how to photograph your jewelry, you will find conversations in the forum (Discussions) on how do set up an inexpensive photo studio.

There's also different groups that you can join to help you with what ever you are currently interested in. For instance, if you're currently interested in bead embroidery, there is a group for that. If you have a specific question on how to do something in bead embroidery, feel free to start a thread in discussions.

If you're interested in learning how to do something new, let's say the Cellini spiral, check out videos because there may be one there to help you learn how to do that. I know for sure there's one on the Cellini spiral because it was the first video uploaded and it's mine.

If you find someone whose work you really like, be bold and ask them to accept you as a friend. I will be sending you an invitation as Gail Devoid to become my friend and you can check that out. Generally, you will find that beaders are a very friendly group.

There's also blog posts here. These are searchable. If you search for Gail Devoid, Mona Hair's entries for the show we co-host will show. If you are interested in bead embroidery and search on that term, any blog entry that mentions this will display.

Have fun!
