thank you barb, I do sell my work, my web page is on my page, if you want to click on it there or its www.deborahhavilandbeadfulthings.com, I went to your page and etsy store in hopes to see something you made either wire wrapping or crystals made but didn't see any. I will go back for stones and gems though. Really cool you had a store, I had one too, back in early 90's, only then it was a country store, I painted on things, floral arranging, some antiques. I had to close it because I damaged my back and my father had a stroke and I needed to nurse him, then after that my mom became ill and I had to do the same with her (I'm a nurse). So it was fun, but my kids were young and they hated it when I was at the store.
So, hopefully after about 2-4 years, I can retire and work full time on my bead making and jewelry design. Best, deb

Hi Barbara,
Yes, we do live relatively close to each other.

I've been beading for two years, and got involved with the Harlequin circle about four months later. I do sell my work privately, by word of mouth. I have a name on www.etsy.com, but haven't put anything up for sale yet. I got the name on etsy just before I fell and smashed my face (lost two teeth, injured the nerve to my eye, so it's blurry sometimes), our two mothers died, and our retirement was stolen in a scandal--all within one month. It diverted my beading energy! But the face is mostly healed, the eye is considerably better, and the rest is past history. I'm in Holland right now for two weeks (related to my husband's mother dying) and brought a few beading projects. We are staying in his mom's mostly empty condo--two chairs, a lamp, two single beds, no TV. We do, thank heavens, have fast internet.

I will have to look for work when we return home.
Best,
Skye

Hi Barbara,
Yes, I have. My daughter lives in Maryland, about an hour from DC. I was there this past summer for my Grandsons graduation. Several of her friends encouraged me to come back with a trunk full of jewels. There are a lot of galleries and high end boutiques in that area. I am planning a trip there hopefully in the spring. If that goes well I will go back in the fall.
As far as other states I wasn't sure how to approach them other than in person. Can't really afford to globe trot. LOL.

Thank you for the nice compliment. I make every effort to use high quality materials and give a lot of attention to details.
We sure did get a lot of snow today....hasn't stopped yet. I am more than ready to move out of Michigan. Actually we have been discussing that pretty seriously. With the economy the way it is jobs are not all that plentiful and hubby is not a spring chicken....makes it much harder to find employment. Notice I said HE was not a spring chicken...not commenting about me. LOL.
I have a web site and just opened a shop at Art Fire...a fairly new on line venue. I just started using semi precious & precious gemstone beads with my work....love them. I just recently started wire wrapping. Another very addicting art form. This is not a very good area to market higher end pieces. St. Joe does have a pretty well known gallery that I plan to visit when this weather breaks a little. There are a lot of wealthy people who have summer homes there and in New Buffalo so if the economy hasn't stopped them from shopping totally, that may be a good venue.

Hi Again,
There aren't any lamp workers that I know of but there are a few that make jewelry. Meg Truesdell had a very nice little shop in downtown Niles. She had two little girls and finally closed to devote more time to being a Mommy.

Hi Barbara,
How did you get lucky enough to get out of Michigan. LOL. We have only been in Niles about 5 yrs...lived in South Bend for over 10yrs. I am originally from Bay City....about 100 north of Det.
