Welcome to Beader's Showcase, one of the premier websites for artists working with beads, polymer clay, PMC, lampwork and much, much more.

We have artists with skills including stringing, embroidery, weaving, clay work, lampwork, silversmithing and loom work. But it doesn't stop there.

You will be amazed at what our artists can do with some of the most basic materials. Given a few glass beads, some wire, a little material, a feather, a couple of silver or even pewter findings, they will create a masterpiece.

Please enjoy, and if you are an artist come join us.

What is your favorite beading activity? Surely you can separate one:)
Painting Beads
Other beading activities you enjoy or want to learn about?
I enjoy stringing beads and creating pieces with various components. I am in the process of learning bead weaving and am interested in bead embroidery and wirework.
What do you consider to be your areas of skill? This will help members search. Check as many as you wish.
Chocolate, Embroidery, Stringing, Wirework, Working On It
About Me:
I live in the little paradise of Santa Cruz, CA. Where I spend my time making little wonders (beads) and creating designs with those wonders. I also am learning some new techniques that I hope will broaden my design bag.

I also paint canvas (and board, and paper) when I am not making beads or jewelry.

I love making and creating and I love running my own business. More than anything else though I love to inspire others and help friends through their blocks and celebrate their successes with them.
My Website:
http://www.whiteowldesigns.com
If you have a beading related business, tell us a little about it.
White Owl Designs is the business that I sell both my beads and my jewelry designs under.

I have been painting since I was twelve. At around twenty-eight I wanted to find a way to combine my deep love for painting and my love for jewelry design. I began bead painting and over the course of a year perfected the mechanical process by which the painted beads become almost under glass looking, lightweight and durable. I also designed the means to "dip" many beads at one time making it possible to design, create and sell the beads themselves.

I did the Texas and New Mexico show circuit for a while and finally settled down in Santa Cruz CA where I sell and work locally and online.

Sad Frustration and Reality

Posted on August 27, 2012 at 11:18am 1 Comment

As an online business owner and a blogger I choose to never let the tears show to my customers and readers. As a person who tried to really adhere to the practices of positive thinking, intentions and NLP I try to not even let myself indulge in the tears. So where to put the fears, the frustration and the real life tears that are all a part of having a jewelry business online. I think all except the most fortunate have these feelings, and also wonder - where do I put these things, these…

Hi there. This post comes after a looong period of intense creativity followed by a redesign of my website, creation of a web store and re-photographing all of my work. Whew - and I wonder why I don't feel like making my bed!

We are so glad you have joined the Beaders Showcase. Take a look around the site and you will find several areas of interest. Members here are always interested in pictures of your work. If you don't know how to photograph your jewelry, you will find conversations in the forum (Discussions) on how do set up an inexpensive photo studio.

There's also different groups that you can join to help you with what ever you are currently interested in. For instance, if you're currently interested in bead embroidery, there is a group for that. If you have a specific question on how to do something in bead embroidery, feel free to start a thread in discussions.

If you're interested in learning how to do something new, let's say the Cellini spiral, check out videos because there may be one there to help you learn how to do that. I know for sure there's one on the Cellini spiral because it was the first video uploaded and it's mine.

If you find someone whose work you really like, be bold and ask them to accept you as a friend. I will be sending you an invitation as Gail Devoid to become my friend and you can check that out. Generally, you will find that beaders are a very friendly group.

There's also blog posts here. These are searchable. If you search for Gail Devoid, Mona Hair's entries for the show we co-hosted will show. If you are interested in bead embroidery and search on that term, any blog entry that mentions this will display.

Have fun!
