Thanks for the clarification on use of the brass w/ malachite. I will look at the book you mentioned one more time. Must've passed over the beading on top of cabs. Isn't it funny how those little seed beads draw you to them? I have them in plenty of colors.

Thanks also for the lovely comments you left for me. The Spirit cuff has a simple peyote base and then I embellished the surface, no wire. I love the colour combo too, it's one of my favourite Czech mixes called Apparition

Where does one find vintage brass? Sounds great. Loved looking at your beautiful slide show. The gold colored cuff with the bead work on the focal bead is splendid. Did you bead on top of the cab?

You're an inspiration!! :) I started beading a year ago doing only simple stringing and some wire work. What fun!! I just took my first weaving class yesterday and I'm going back for several more weaving workshops this month. I wasn't sure I'd like weaving, but I can tell I'm going to like it more than wire b/c woven projects are more portable than wire projects. - What is your favorite beading activity? Surely you can separate one:)
- Seed beads at the moment

- I enjoy most types of beading but have moved through stringing, chainmaille to end up seed beading which is the last place I thought I'd be but I am loving it. I also love to use semi-precious gems with my beadwork. I would love to watch lampworking just to see how it is done, looks complicated from afar.

- I have been beading since 2002 when my daughter was born and I wanted a craft that was easy to move around. Prior to that the last craft I was engaged in was picture framing not the most portable of crafts. I live in the hills so am surrounded by nature.

Embroidered Petal Cuff

One of my favourite pieces of jewellery to make is embroidered cuffs. The feature on this one is the dusky pink lampwork flowers by Jan C beads. The rest of the beads have been attached to ultrasuede over an aluminium blank and include keishi pearls, seed beads and green, facetted gemstone beads.
